Wildix: more than just a VoIP phone system

Wildix offers a powerful cloud phone system, but it can do so much more. Discover its hidden benefits and learn how it can help boost leads and sales.

Wildix: more than just a VoIP phone system

Today, we're going to talk about one of our three favourite phone systems: Wildix.

What's so great about it? Well, Wildix is a very capable VoIP solution. But that's just one of its many talents.

See, Wildix is a bit like a Sunday supplement. It's lightweight, flexible and full to the brim with exciting features.

We've written about Wildix's VoIP capabilities before. So in this post, we're going to focus on some of the other things it can do.

(Spoiler: it can do nearly everything. Except make you breakfast. Maybe that's coming in a future update.)

Unified communications

Unified communications, or UC, is the big thing right now. Seriously, you can't walk down the street without talk of "CTI", "PBX" and "SIP trunking".

OK, that's not true. But in the world of business communications, it's very much the "in thing".

And for good reason. Because UC might just be the answer to that other big business topic – the rise in flexible working.

UC refers to a software solution that brings together several modes of communication. A good UC platform will let you send instant messages, start video chats and make phone calls with just a couple of clicks.

The benefits are clear. It's a faff to deal with multiple applications, all with their own passwords to remember and UIs to navigate. UC solutions cut out these little hurdles and let all the technologies – voice, video, and so on – talk to each other like old pals.

With a good UC solution, home workers can communicate and collaborate like they're in the same building. This means better productivity, and that means PROFIT.

But why is Wildix so special as a UC platform?

Simple. Its UC solutions are entirely cloud based and run directly in your web browser. This has two major benefits.

First of all, you don't need to install any software on site. If you've dealt with large-scale software installations before, you'll know they're nothing but hassle. Things will go wrong, and if you don't have an expert IT team on standby to fix the issue, they'll stay wrong.

A browser-based solution isn't infallible. But with software updates and maintenance happening within the cloud, rather than at your HQ, it's much, much easier to handle.

Secondly, it's more portable. If you own an internet-connected device, be it a Mac, PC or smartphone, chances are you can access Wildix. As long as it can run a modern web browser, you're good to go.

This is especially important in our new, more flexible world. It means you can reach colleagues, wherever they are – at the office… on the train… tucked up in bed pretending to be hard at work…

Website chat widgets

You've seen these before. You click onto a website and a little face pops up offering help.

So far, so whatever.

But before you scroll on, get this. Wildix can take these little points of contact and turn them into service-boosting, lead-generating machines.

Here's how it works. You generate a bit of code and add it to your website. This takes all of about… five minutes?

Visitors will be presented with a chat widget or a click-to-call button – up to you. They give it a tap, and – voila! – they're talking to one of your representatives, via text, voice or video.

That's right. They can video chat right from their browser, with no need for additional software or plugins.

This is thanks to some ingenious technology called WebRTC. We don't have time to go into all the details here, so let's just say it's magic.

And – believe it or not – that's not even the really clever bit. See, all these chat sessions can be routed to another Wildix solution called x-bees.

X-bees is a UC solution designed especially for sales teams. It lets your salespeople handle communicate, collaborate and talk to customers, all from the comfort of their web browser.

And through some more software sorcery, x-bees remembers customers between sessions even if they're using a different device.

Suddenly, pulling rabbits out of hats doesn't seem all that impressive…

Integration, integration, integration

If you need your business communications solution to integrate with existing software, Wildix should be your first port of call.

Wildix's software engineers might just be the busiest in the business. At the time of writing, the company's website lists 60 confirmed integrations, and they're constantly working to add more.

Say you already have a Microsoft Teams subscription. You want to move your cloud phone system to Wildix, but you're worried you'll face a mutiny if staff are forced to learn a new system.

Well, good news. Wildix is designed to integrate seamlessly with Teams.

This means staff can use the system they're used to, while Wildix works behind the scenes to add advanced VoIP features to teams – like call reporting, call recording, and better hardware support.

Or maybe you're one of the 150,000 businesses that use Salesforce. Yep, Wildix works well alongside the popular CRM system, pulling customer data into its own lead nurturing and contact management tools.

It even integrates with security systems. And with niche software, like SystmOne – a clinical system that's popular with doctors in the UK.

Ahh. Isn't it nice when the pieces just fall into place?

And there's more…

Honestly, when it comes to Wildix's many features, we've only just scratched the surface.

We didn't even mention that its cloud telephony solution nets you unlimited free calls to UK landlines and mobiles.

Or how it can help you host webinars that actually generate worthwhile leads.

Or its mind-bogglingly innovative retail headset technology, which literally tells floor staff where interested customers are.

So, first things first, we recommend you visit our dedicated Wildix page and learn about all these cool features for yourself.

Fancy talking about how Wildix can help boost your business? Great! Just get in touch for a free, no-obligation chat.
